Party Pictures

These pictures aren't exactly in order.  We had pictures from 3 different cameras so things are a little jumbled.  But in an effort to get the photos posted I'm just putting them up as they fall.  Motherhood definitely helps break some of my perfectionist habits.

I knew she didn't seem quite herself and I think you can even see in the pictures that she was just missing her spark.  She had been running a fever a couple days before but it had broke and she seemed good the day before.  I'm pretty sure she had some sort of a stomach bug.

Notice the lack of that adorable jumper.  That wasn't due to cake, well at least not in the fun way.  McKenna "tossed her cookies" getting herself and daddy.

Then she seemed all good!

I'm pretty sure it was shortly after this photo that she got sick again.  This one was worse than the first.  The party came to a quick end.  Thankfully we had finished opening presents and everyone had eaten.  I took the poor baby upstairs and she quickly fell asleep.  It took a while before she would let me put her in her crib to sleep vs. sleeping on me, but we got there.  Once she woke up from that nap, she seemed fine again.

It wasn't eactly the way I had invisioned her first birthday, but overall everything was great.  Thank you to everyone that made it to the party or send cards or gifts.  She may not remember her first birthday, but she'll be able to look back at the photos and cards and see how loved she is.

CAKE!

I have to say I'm very impressed with how the cakes turned out.  I had been stressing for weeks about whether I'd be able to pull this off.  I'm so glad I took the chance.  Big thanks to Auntie Courtney for helping out too!  It really was a team effort.  Grammy helped get all the icing ready too.

She wasn't really that intersted in the cake.  I'm pretty sure she wasn't feeling good the day of her party.  Based on the digestive pyrotechnics she displaying during and after opening her presents I think I was right.  And its a good thing daddy was wearing a green shirt and that she didn't have more cake than she did.

Special kudos to Pappy for making home made ice cream.

Home made ice cream is very cold.  This face is not about the taste its the temperature.  She wanted more even with the cold.  Its that yummy!
